Recently, we wrote an article about Thanksgiving, but as you might already know, we are Belgians and we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Belgium, so now also an article about a Belgian holiday: Christmas!
Like almost everywhere, in Belgium, Christmas is on December 25th. It’s a very important holiday here. Most people come together with their whole family. We eat a lot! Conventionally, we eat turkey, but every family has their own traditions. Some celebrate it on Christmas day, others on Christmas Eve. Some eat turkey, some don’t. Also, we put a Christmas tree usually and we decorate it all our own way. Besides that, presents are a big thing on Christmas. Everyone likes to give and get presents, and on Christmas it’s the time to give all your loved ones a special present! In Belgium, we also do Secret Santa a lot (pick names and buy that person a present), it’s a funny thing to do!
So it’s a common celebration, but everyone celebrates it their own way!
